The Problem

Courtney, the Founder and CEO of Woodbine Candle Co. came to us stuck. She had a great, all-natural product, with customers who were enjoying her candles, but she was stuck feeling like her company was nothing more than a passionate hobby. Woodbine Candle Company had nothing more than a logo and a few scents, no copy that connected the product and consumer, no story to draw in the audience. When we sat down with her, she was able to trust us with the vision of what this company could be; one that explored the relationship of home and self-care, one that was able to view the consumer and their places of rest as one. She had already begun cooking up new recipes and expressions, but wanted a brand that made her proud.

The Solution

We suggested a refreshed brand, one that wouldn’t get lost on the shelves at various apothecaries and markets; one that would surely stand out at the seasonal craft shows and fairs. A new brand with some refreshed copy that would excite and relate with customers in various stages of the brand journey. If 2020 and 2021 taught us anything, it is the value of our homes and our bodies, and maybe a little more about the deep relationship between the two than we ever had imagined. Those that weren’t homebodies before, learned the value of slowing down and experiencing their own safe space. And those of us that were homebodies before, are even more deeply entrenched in that calming relationship of presentness in our own places of respite. This is what Woodbine Home x Body is all about.

The Results

With this vision in mind, Fifo helped create a fun and diverse brand that still maintained the sophisticated elegance that Courtney infused. Woodbine Home x Body is a curated experiment of what happens when you blend not only scents but various products to create a rhythm of rest and safety. We were able to build new copy that excited the consumer and riffed on common uses of products like the candle, lotions or lip balm. Ultimately, we wanted a brand that simplified the potentially complex visual diversity of her products while unifying the scents and aromas. The result is a brand you can breath in deeply and enjoy.
